Sign Design & Rendering

Service Image

What's Included

  • Design concepts. 2–3 sign options based on your brand, your building, and your budget.
  • Storefront renderings. Your sign placed on a photo of your actual location, taken during the site survey, so there are no surprises on install day.
  • Day and night views. For illuminated signs, see how your sign reads in daylight and after dark.
  • Technical drawings. Dimensioned drawings with materials, mounting details, and electrical specs, ready for landlord approval and sign permitting.

‍

How the Design Process Works

1. Share Your Brand

Send us your logo, brand colors, and any landlord sign criteria from your lease. If you don't have a logo file, we can work from what you have.

2. Review Concepts

Within 3 business days we'll send design options sized to your storefront and compliant with local sign codes.

3. Refine and Approve

Choose a direction, request changes, and approve the final rendering. Nothing moves into production until you sign off.

4. Submit for Approvals

We use your approved design to submit for landlord approval and city permits, then move into fabrication and installation.

‍

Designed to Be Seen and Approved

A sign can look great on a screen and still fail in real life. Every Sign Spot design is built around:

  • Visibility. Letter height and contrast sized for how far away your customers are, whether that's across the street or from a moving car.
  • Legibility. Clean fonts and spacing that read clearly at a glance.
  • Code compliance. Size, placement, and illumination within your city's sign code, so your permit isn't rejected.
  • Landlord criteria. Shopping centers often dictate sign type, colors, and mounting. We design to their rules from the start.
  • Brand consistency. For multi-location brands, designs that match your brand standards at every site.

‍

What We Need From You

The best starting point is a vector logo file (.AI, .EPS, .SVG, or .PDF). Vector files scale to any size without losing quality, which matters when your logo is going on a 20-foot sign. Not sure what you have? Read our guide: What Is a Vector File and Why Do I Need It?

Don't have a vector file? We can recreate your logo for production. Just ask.

‍

Sign Types We Design

We design every type of business sign, including channel letters, storefront signs, monument signs, pylon signs, window graphics, and coming-soon signs.

Sign Design FAQs

Is sign design included in the price of my sign?

Yes. Design and renderings are included when you order your sign through Sign Spot.

How long does sign design take?

Most initial concepts are ready within 3 business days. Revisions typically take 1–2 days each.

Can you design a sign if I don't have a logo?

Yes, we can create a simple logo or wordmark for your sign. (Or: We recommend working with a brand designer first. We can refer you to one.)

Will the rendering match the final sign?

Yes. Renderings are built from the measurements and photos taken during your site survey, so the final sign matches the approved design in size, placement, and color.

Can I use my own designer?

Absolutely. We'll review your designer's files for production, code compliance, and landlord criteria, and create the technical drawings needed for permitting.
