Sign Fabrication

Service Image

Once your design is approved and permits are underway, your sign goes into production. Sign Spot fabricates every sign to your exact approved drawings, using materials and components built to hold up to years of Southern California sun, then inspects it before it ever reaches your site. The result is a sign that looks like the rendering on day one and still looks that way years later.

Signs We Fabricate

  • Channel letters. Front-lit, halo-lit (reverse-lit), and non-illuminated letters on raceways or direct mount.
  • Lightbox and cabinet signs. Single- and double-sided, with push-through or flat faces.
  • Monument signs and pylon signs. Freestanding signs for shopping centers, offices, and gas stations.
  • Dimensional letters and logos. Metal, acrylic, and PVC letters for storefronts and lobbies.
  • Blade and projecting signs. Double-sided signs that catch foot traffic from both directions.
  • Window graphics and vinyl. Printed and cut vinyl, perforated window film, and wall graphics.
  • Interior and lobby signs. Reception logos, wayfinding, and office signage.

Materials Built for Southern California

Sun, heat, and coastal air are hard on signs. We select materials based on where your sign will live:

  • Aluminum. Lightweight and rust-resistant, used for channel letter returns, cabinets, and monument faces.
  • Acrylic and polycarbonate. Illuminated faces that diffuse light evenly and resist cracking.
  • LED modules. Energy-efficient illumination with long service life and lower operating costs than neon or fluorescent.
  • UV-resistant paints and laminates. Finishes that resist fading in direct sunlight.
  • Outdoor-rated vinyl. Films designed for exterior use and long-term color stability.

‍

Illumination Options

  • Front-lit. Letters glow through colored acrylic faces. The most common and most visible option.
  • Halo-lit (reverse-lit). Light washes the wall behind solid letters for a premium, upscale look.
  • Front-and-back lit. Combines both effects for maximum visibility.
  • Non-illuminated. Clean dimensional signs for daytime businesses or where lighting isn't allowed.

Your city's sign code may limit brightness or illumination type. We confirm what's allowed during permitting.

‍

Quality Control on Every Sign

  • Built to approved drawings. Dimensions, colors, and materials match your signed-off design.
  • Color matching. Brand colors matched to your approved specifications.
  • Electrical testing. Illuminated signs are tested before shipping, using UL-listed components where required.
  • Pre-install inspection. Every sign is checked for finish, fit, and function before it goes to your site.

‍

Production Timelines

Most signs are fabricated within 3–6 weeks after design approval. Timing depends on sign type, size, and illumination. Because production can run while your permit is in review, fabrication rarely becomes the bottleneck. We'll give you a firm timeline with your quote.

Sign Fabrication FAQs

How long does sign fabrication take?

Most signs are ready in [X–X weeks] after design approval. Large monument or pylon signs can take longer.

What's the difference between front-lit and halo-lit channel letters?

Front-lit letters glow through their colored faces, making them the most visible option at night. Halo-lit letters have solid faces and shine light backward onto the wall, creating a glowing outline that looks more upscale.

How long do LED signs last?

Quality LED modules are typically rated for 50,000+ hours of use, often 10+ years of normal operation. Power supplies may need replacement sooner. Our sign repair & maintenance service covers that.

Do you offer a warranty?

Yes. Signs come with a 5-year warranty on fabrication and a 3-year warranty on electrical components.

Can you match my brand colors exactly?

Yes. We match your brand colors from your brand guidelines or color codes, and confirm them in your approved design before production.
